Everybody Loves a Holiday!

I think everyone is really needing this three day weekend, so glad we are able to take advantage of this holiday to regroup and be ready for the rest of January! I had the experience of going to Medieval Times this weekend with some of Paul's family!  Here are a few pics!  Try to do something fun and out of the ordinary for you this month!

Report Cards Go Home

Important Reminders and Updates
Report Cards
Make sure and have all of your grades turned in and ready for Brett to run everything first thing Tuesday morning at 8:00am!  Also, please double check when putting report cards into envelopes for sending home on Friday to ensure each student is getting the appropriate card/info sent home.

No Texan Town
Due to the large number of people off campus on Friday, we are going to cancel Texan Town for this week.  We will still have our usual Friday schedule time (specials starting at 9:30).  We will look to later in the semester to see if we will have another day to make it up.

T-STEM Conference
We will have many staff members off campus on Thursday and Friday due to presenting at the conference in San Antonio.  During this time, Linda Cook will be stopping by and we will have two administrators who are going to be helping us out.  Tricia Badillo (AP at Denton Creek) and Todd Herauf (AP at Lee) will be here alternating days or possibly both on one day.  Please keep this in mind as you have issues that arise with your kiddos and try to work through as many problems as you can with your learners and their parents. This does not mean you can't send a child to the office, but please try to limit if possible for larger issues.

Kim Becker for the wonderful job she did organizing all of our new non-fiction readers in the literacy library, coding the books and creating a spreadsheet that will be easy for you to use in locating the materials!

Becky Garrett for another beautiful singing performance with our 2nd graders!  The learners were professional and focused during the performance!

2nd Grade team and Austin Yaeger, and Laci Garza for their support with the performance!

Becky Garrett and Trish Depew for helping to make such a fun performance with our bucket drumming crew!

All of those teachers and staff who came out to TCE Skate Night!  You may choose three sweats and/or jeans days as a token of appreciation for coming out to support TCE!

Shout out to everyone for a fabulous tour with our Wichita Falls ISD group!  The superintendent was extremely complimentary as were the teachers, technology integration specialists and other admin!  I appreciate the hard work you have put into showcasing learning throughout the building and how you share your art of teaching with others!  Thank you!

Vocabulary from Vertical
Here are some of the pics from our brainstorming at vertical!  I will attach the other photos this next time for assessment, sorry I had forgotten to take those pics!

  Final Quotes
As you think about going into the spring semester, remind yourself to remember why we look for creative ways to teach.  Also, think about how you are allowing your kiddos to be creative and innovative in their thinking and learning!

I am reading a wonderful book right now by George Couros, who I had the chance to hear speak before (you may have the opportunity to hear this year).  He speaks to innovation in learning and how we can empower our learners!  Great read if you are looking for something to keep you thinking about the future of learning!
