Field Day and Kick Off - Grade Level Songs
We are gearing up for another fun-filled field day in May. . .yes, trying to be a little ahead of the game, since I will be back and forth from Admin to TCE even more starting this month.  Our theme this year is a pirate theme, so be thinking of a fun song (doesn't have to be pirate) to kick off our field day!  Remember this is just a short little dance/song your kiddos can do to get pumped up about the day!  More info to come on field day, but wanted to get this out there!

Save the Date!

Cultural Plunges
"Create Your Own Recordings
with Screencast-O-Matic"
For sharing out our cultural plunges this year, we are going to move to trying an online sharing by using screencasts and then integrate a Twitter chat as well to discuss, collaborate, ask questions and share insight.  This will also allow us to cancel our face to face meetings for TLC on Wed. April 18th and Wed. May 9th.

Please watch the video below if you have never made a screencast before.  You (your group) will be using this tool (Screencast-O-Matic or another screencasting tool) to capture and share out your cultural plunge presentation so it can then be watched online.  We will be storing these video recordings in a Cultural Plunge Folder within our TCE Schoology Course.  Due Date:  Monday, April 30th to have everything uploaded into Schoology!

So, if you haven't done your cultural plunge yet, please get that going, so you will be ready for these next steps!

Cultural Celebration Night -
Wednesday, March 28th (5:30-7:00pm)
Make sure you have signed up to help for a station!!

Here is the brainstorming link to see what our committee had discussed and feel free to add ideas, etc.

Here is the sign-up that we have going so far for people to bring in their favorite family dish.  This can also be something brought in from a restaurant if they don't want to cook!  If we could all bring in some kind of a dish from each of our staff, that would also be great!  I am going to blast out this info again to parents as well as if K-5 teachers you could make sure and add this to your blogs!

Here is the sign-up for stations, please remember it would be great to have parents helping to lead/support these activities to make it more authentic toward our cultures.  I know Kinder and 1st have reached out to some of their Korean families in order to work together on some activities. Once again, three to four staff members per station are fine.  Then the gym will have performances which is another area we will need at least one or two staff members.  Also, the cafeteria, we will need a few staff members and parents to help with the food.  I am attaching a few documents for review:
