Important Reminders
Curriculum Documents to Review
The following was sent out last Friday afternoon about the district Curriculum Management Plan and directions for what they are wanting our help with for next steps:

Please send this out next week (week of March 27) and ask your educators to read through it (it is lengthy---sorry) but it is the guide for curriculum for the district.

They are asking us to then share feedback on this document on Tuesday, April 18th from 10:30-1:30.  Two directors will be available for anyone on the campus to stop in and ask questions, give comments, etc.  The district hopes to gain feedback and promote understanding as this new guideline of curriculum is implemented.

We will use Kristan's room as our location and if you have questions or would like to discuss any part before then, feel free to let me know!

MLB Opening Day/Opening Week

This past week has to be one of my favorite weeks of the year.  NCAA basketball championship, The Master’s Golf Tournament at Augusta National, and most importantly Major League Baseball Opening Day.  Even though the Rangers haven’t had the best 1st week of the season, the opening day festivities and excitement has filled the DFW area.

As I watched each night, listening to the updates and announcers talk about the stories of each franchise and their opponents, I loved learning about players that have been added to the roster for the new season, their journey to get to the Big Show.  I also love to listen to the sounds of the game, in particular, the walk up music.  If you aren’t familiar with this part of the game, each player selects a song that is played as they walk up to the plate before they bat.  Players usually pick a song that means something to them, represents their heritage, or is just plain fun.

Of course, if I had the choice of a walk up song, John Mellancamp would be at the top of the list: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CVLVaBECuc.

I know I’ve talked about this before, but it’s always worth mentioning again, that each of your learners has a story as well, as do you.  As you spend time with your class over the last nine weeks of school, think about the impact you can have on their stories.  How can you influence them over the remainder of the year? Also think about your story and what your walk up song would be.  How do you want them to remember you?  Just for fun, add your walk up song to the link below, maybe we can have them on the playlist for Field Day!

Have a great weekend!
