This is always a fun and busy week with Valentine's Day parties mid-week! I love this time of year as it is so much fun to see the excitement on our kiddos faces when they open up their valentines! As we have fun and enjoy this time with our kiddos, please remember to be on the lookout for treats that may cause any issues for our kiddos with allergies. Also, please make sure ensure any visitors you have during our party day are wearing their name badge and make sure any of your personal items are locked up/put away such as purses, phones, or things of value since we have many people coming in and out on this day. Looking forward to another wonderful week at TCE and in celebration of Valentine's Day and how much I appreciate and love all of you. . .enjoy a week of jeans with sweats on Friday! And. . .don't forget the office staff is treating you to a special luncheon "Spuds of Love" on Friday!

Important Reminders
CISD Professional Learning Day - Feb. 19th
From CISD: Educators MUST register for their session(s) in Eduphoria no later than Wednesday, February 14 at 5:00 (the registration window will close at this time). (Having educators register for their session(s) helps the facilitators to know how many participants in which to plan.)
A few things to note regarding the schedule:
- Staff at CHS and CHS-9 must select one of the sessions of Growth Mindset to attend. There are 4 sessions as indicated on the schedule. Attendance at one of these sessions is mandatory
- K-12 Fine Arts and PE must attend the UbD session as shown on the schedule (this is a full day)
- 6-12 CTE and iExplore must attend the UbD session as shown on the schedule (this is a full day)
- LSSP, SLP, Related Services, and SpEd Resource educators: your session is for a full day as shown on the schedule
- Elementary/Secondary educators (if not listed above) have choice between Math – ELAR – Social Studies – Science - EL sessions as shown on schedule. The afternoon will be at home campus processing morning sessions — a protocol for this will be sent to campus principals on February 15th.
It's that time to start getting our ideas down and ready to go for our annual family night coming up on Thursday, February 22nd (5:00-7:oopm). I am attaching a link, so we can get our stations brainstormed. This year, if we could please have no more than 3-4 people per station.
Remember, you don't have to stay with your team, you can branch out and partner with others on the campus! Try your best to think of some new and exciting ideas, as we try to keep this event fresh with new STEM family challenges!
Please remember that we have lots of resources already with our maker space tools as well as in our innovation station upstairs, so check there before placing an order!
If you need to purchase materials, please make sure Laura knows what you need by this Friday, Feb. 9th! (if you didn't let her know, make sure you do so by Monday, Feb. 12th!)

Curriculum Connection:
Kindness and Empathy
Since it is Valentine's Day this week as well as we are promoting random acts of kindness, check out the videos and resources below!
A video that I thought you might like to watch on kindness. . .you could also have your kiddos watch and reflect on the actions of others. Might want to pause before the end as there is a bible verse referenced if using with your kiddos!
Gotta Love Kid President. . .another great video that can help with kindness in our world. . .
