Important Reminders
Drama Club
Sorry for the late notice on the performance! We will need to have Texan Town Schedule, so please plan accordingly. Looking forward to seeing our TCE Texans who were a part of drama this go round!
Tuesday Curriculum
Remember that we will have representatives from the curriculum department with us on Tuesday for anyone to stop by and ask questions, clarifications, give feedback, etc. to them about the curriculum management plan (CMP). Please make sure you swing by if wanting to give feedback!
Look in previous blog posts for the link to the plan if needed! Make sure you have read the document if you haven't yet!
Team Leader Meeting and Interview Training
A piece of our team leader meeting this week will be interview training. Anyone else who is wanting to possibly serve on a TCE interview team this year must have this training, so feel free to come for that part of the meeting! Anyone is welcome to be trained! As we get ready to interview for any possible positions, I will be reaching out only to those people who have been trained to set up a possible team. This includes any possible interviews we would need to conduct during the summer.
Parent Volunteer Breakfast
Please click on the following link to sign up to bring something for our TCE Parent Volunteer breakfast on Wednesday morning!
TCE Hoedown
Please remember that everyone needs to come to the hoedown for at least an hour and a half. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so public relations is a big part of what makes it successful! Also, I will let you know by Tuesday, if we may need to sign up to help at stations. We are still promoting the need for volunteers, so please share out the info with parents that I sent out on Friday! My video wasn't public, so I fixed that this weekend. Here is the sign-up and the video link!

I think I can, I think I
can
With summer right around the corner, every day I
find myself more exhausted than the last. It would be unbelievably easy to
check out with spring fever, but the reality is we have almost 2 months of hard
work and learning left to do. I have quickly learned that as a teacher you have
the amazing power to affect and mold a classroom full of sweet little minds and
hearts. I have also learned how perceptive their little minds are, and that my
anxious tendencies and bad moods QUICKLY rub off on them.
Over the last few weeks I have been looking for
anything to motivate me. Motivate me to be healthier, happier, a better
teacher, friend, and learner. I’ve found that the key is consistency. Whether
I’m consistent in going to the gym to try and make myself feel better about
going to sleep on a summer bod, reaching out and supporting my friends, asking
for help, classroom expectations, or maintaining relationships with my kiddos.
Keeping myself motivated and positive is a challenge in itself, but I am slowly
learning that motivating myself is only half of the battle.
I realize that the struggle to remain consistent
everyday is just as much of a struggle for my learners as it is for me.
Understanding the need for consistency and how important it is to remain
positive is so important for me to remember, especially at this time of the
year when everyone is beyond ready for a break. Now more than ever I have been
consistent in maintaining relationships with my kiddos. Knowing their struggle
to remain consistent in the classroom academically and behaviorally, sometimes
a simple conversation is just what they need to decompress. Knowing about the
outcome of one of my learner’s basketball games, asking about an upcoming dance
concert, or a hug every morning is by far one of my favorite parts of our job.
It is so easy to get busy and forget about how much of a difference the strong
relationships make in keeping you sane every day. For me, being consistent in
these relationships will be what gets me through the next few weeks.
Finding a balance between remaining consistent,
motivated, prepared, and positive in my professional life and staying sane is
always a struggle. This year I have learned so much from every single one of
the fantastic teachers and people I am surrounded by daily. Regardless of how
important consistency is for us in our professional lives, at this time of year
it is especially important to take care of yourself and your needs, and
de-stress! You deserve it.
“It's not what we do once in awhile that
shapes our lives. It's what we do consistently.”
